Yaiza premieres next April 5th at 8:30 p.m. in the Plaza de la Alameda the theatrical play 'Killing Jesus, a man for the nation', which has been preparing the company Trama2 since October of last year by municipal order "as a strong commitment to art that we integrate into the tourist and cultural offer of the municipality of Yaiza and Lanzarote to last in Holy Week", as stated by the mayor, Óscar Noda, who presented the play this Wednesday together with the author of the script and director of the staging, Salvador Leal, and in the company of the Councilor for Culture, Daniel Medina, and the actor and theater producer Germán Barrios.

"We do not question the figure of Jesus nor do we seek a spiritual reflection, much less do we question faith, which is a very personal conviction; what we do is represent the most human sense of the figure of Jesus and the apostles and all the plot and conspiracy that is created to end the man, who was obviously a danger to the Jewish power at that time," advanced Salvador Leal.

Óscar Noda emphasized "the quality of a theatrical work that has taken months of work", in which "they have been assembling the sets, the scenography, costumes" apart from "the work of original script, direction and rehearsals of half a hundred actors on stage, more than half neighbors of Yaiza". "With Trama2 we have had great and well-valued experiences with the works 'Yaiza Historical City' and the street theater 'Yaiza, a buried history'". Therefore, "what we ask of the company to continue cultivating the performing arts is the guidance of professional people".

"The scenes are short to give greater rhythm and the dialogues are agile with a good assembly and lighting file." As a novelty this "the interpretation of the original music live with a rock band invited for the function" called Tarambana Band.

"The objective is to repeat the work in years to come and that it becomes from now on a new tourist and cultural attraction"

Óscar Noda has confirmed that "the objective is to repeat the work in years to come and that it becomes from now on a new tourist and cultural attraction". "That our visitors not only enjoy sun and beach, but also enjoy the culture with a spectacular work."

Salvador Leal has thanked the Yaiza City Council for its trust and conviction to support art: "the meaning of culture is not simply the spectacle." "And betting on culture is not that a politician comes out and says: I bet on culture, because I have seen many say it in 40 years that I have been in this." "When you bet on culture you have to do it for the people who create that culture and in Lanzarote it is not very common".
