Tourism students from Lanzarote perform an adaptation of 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'

The musical had a solidarity purpose, since the entrance to the event consisted of the donation of non-perishable food, which was later delivered to Cáritas to support families in vulnerable situations

Fourth-year students of the subject Social Skills and Group Animation of the Degree in Tourism of the University School of Tourism of Lanzarote, attached to the ULPGC and dependent on the Education Area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, staged, last Friday, a brilliant adaptation of the classic Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

This performance, transformed into a musical, took place at the Teatro de Tinajo and stood out both for the artistic talent of the students and for their ability to organize, coordinate and work as a team, fundamental objectives of their academic training.

The activity was designed as an experiential learning practice, allowing students to develop key skills such as project planning, effective communication and group management. In addition, the musical had a solidarity purpose, since the entrance to the event consisted of the donation of non-perishable food, which was later delivered to Cáritas to support families in vulnerable situations.

The event was attended by the Councilor for Education of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Ascensión Toledo, who stressed that "this type of activities are an example of how learning can transcend the classroom to create transformative experiences, promoting social commitment and the integral development of our students. From the Cabildo, we will continue to support projects that reinforce these values and demonstrate how education and solidarity go hand in hand."

Also present were the director of the University School of Tourism, Eva Crespo, as well as teachers, family, friends and residents of the community, who did not hesitate to praise the creativity, involvement and social responsibility of the young people.
