Tinajo celebrates the "XXXII Ranchos Gathering"

The Rancho de Pascua Archinech Cultural Association of Tinajo celebrated this Saturday the "XXXII Ranchos Encounter", an event that was stopped by the pandemic. This time it was held in the social hall instead of the Church of San Roque.

This year the group has created an award the "Golden Tambourine" which was given to two members José Cabrera Cabrera and Antonio Tejera Cabrera. The imposition of the distinctions was the most emotional part of the event. Awards that the public, among whom were the mayor of the municipality, Jesús Machín, the councilor Yurena Cuba, Víctor Joel Arbelo and the Minister of Culture of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Alberto Aguiar, endorsed with their applause.

The meeting began with the departure of the Rancho, making a parade from the church to the social hall. Then began the performance of the Parranda Janubio to which the Municipal School of Music of Yaiza joined. Under the musical direction of Clotildo Martín they performed a repertoire of popular Christmas carols such as Campana sobre Campana, Venid Pastorcitos including also from other countries such as Peru or Paraguay.

After the performance, the lights of the hall went out, at which point the Rancho de Pascua Archinech made its entrance singing "El Corrido", until reaching the stage where they continued singing "El niño que está en la Cuna". Immediately afterwards and for the first time at the express wish of the Rancho Archinech, the members of the Municipal Music Band "Peña San Roque" and the Musical Association Cultura Timbayba took the stage. And all uniting their instruments and voices performed the most traditional pieces of Christmas such as Santo Domingo, El Divino ending with Endecha directed by Chalo Martín, Orlando Morales and Ivanhoe Rodríguez.
