The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, the first deputy mayor, Nicolás Saavedra, and the councilwoman for Festivals, Miriam Hernández, presented the winning poster for the Puerto del Carmen Carnival 2026, an edition that promises to turn the streets into a grand festive stage inspired by the elegance, carefree spirit, and joy of *The Roaring Twenties*.
The theme will pay homage to a decade marked by music, dance, and celebration, fusing that spirit with identity, landscapes, and light in a proposal that aims to fill Puerto del Carmen with color, rhythm, and popular participation.
The winning design of the competition was created by Francisco David Villacrés Cuadrado, a resident of the municipality, who was inspired by the landscapes, towns, and sky of Lanzarote, using vibrant colors and a festive aesthetic that evokes both the carnival atmosphere and the magic of the island.
The Carnival of Puerto del Carmen will be celebrated from February 19 to 22, with a varied program that includes galas, carnival parades, concerts, parties, and activities for all ages. As a prelude to the festivities, the presentation of the Carnival groups will take place on February 8 at 7:00 PM in the Municipal Sports Pavilion of Tías.
