The Plaza de las Naciones, on Los Pocillos beach in Puerto del Carmen, will host the celebration of the Dragon Boat Festival in Lanzarote this Saturday from 12:30 to 5:00 p.m. This celebration will take place with a gastronomic fair, an exhibition of boats, Chinese music and shows.

The festival will feature a performance by the group Treinytantos and artistic creations by Circo de Lanzarote, as well as the exhibition of two typical dragon boat racing boats by the club Los Marlines. You can taste wine from Bodega Vulcano and delicacies of traditional Chinese cuisine such as zongzi (rice fillings wrapped with bamboo).

The Tías City Council, chaired by José Juan Cruz, collaborates in this festival organized by the Chinese Community Aid Foundation (FACC), led by Jaime Jiang, and encourages residents and visitors to come to the fair "to enjoy this great meeting of cultures and communities".

The Kokoxili sushi & Asian restaurant, the Suko Asian supermarket, the company Servigolanz SVG, Nakoya gourmet & food, the Marlines Lanzarote canoeing club, Mercedes-Benz Louzao and Vulcano Lanzarote winery also collaborate.

The Dragon Boat Festival, which dates back thousands of years, is celebrated in different ways throughout the world. In China it usually includes a commemorative ceremony to the poet Qu Yuan, sports competitions such as regattas and dragon boat rides or target shooting with willow branches, meals based on rice balls, eggs and wine; and folk shows in which operas and songs are performed, as well as unicorn dances.
