The municipality of Tías celebrated this Sunday the festivity of its Patron Saint Our Lady of Candelaria. At 12:00 noon, with the church packed with parishioners, the celebration of the Eucharist began, presided over by José Antonio Molina Nieto, parish priest of San José Obrero in Titerroy and Santa María de la Vega, who was assisted by the parish priest of Tías, Adrián Sosa Nuez. The songs for this special celebration were directed by Professor Carmen Dolores.
After the Eucharist, the procession began, headed by the Music Band 'La Unión Musical de Lanzarote', directed by Professor Pepe Artiles, followed closely by the images of Our Lady of Candelaria and San Blas.
The celebrating priests, the civil and military authorities together with the parishioners walked the streets near the church. Upon their return, the images of the saints received the folkloric offering with the traditional songs and dances of the Gaida Folkloric Group of the municipality of Tías. After finishing the offering, the images returned to the church, thus ending the religious acts.
