In the months of July and August you can enjoy the Traveling Summer Cinema in Lanzarote. This initiative will bring together great films from the history of cinema, free of charge and outdoors, thanks to a comprehensive project carried out, for the second consecutive year, by the Tenique Cultural Association in collaboration with the Lanzarote City Council and six municipalities on the island: Haría, Arrecife, San Bartolomé, Tinajo, Teguise and Tías, whose city councils have accepted the proposal to recover good family films during the summer season.

For the second consecutive year, the Tenique Cultural Association is organizing its traveling summer cinema, a unique project of free and family films that aims to be a leisure alternative that combines entertainment and cinematographic quality, and which brought together more than 400 people in its first edition.

The Minister of Culture, Jesús Alexander Machín Tavío, has highlighted that "this traveling summer cinema initiative is an excellent idea that we will continue to support from the City Council, which involves not only a good selection of films, but also a cinema that makes you think, reflect and goes beyond mere entertainment," he said.

The first municipality to host the project will be Haría, with two sessions on July 14 and 15. Then, on July 21 and 22, the traveling summer cinema will arrive in Arrecife; and on the 28th and 29th, in San Bartolomé. In August, the first stop will be Tinajo, on the 2nd and 3rd; on the 11th and 12th you can see films in Teguise, and on the 18th and 19th of August in Tías.

"After the success of the last edition, we at Tenique Cultural have been very clear that it was essential for the municipalities of Lanzarote that their inhabitants could enjoy entertaining, quality and, in addition, free cinema in the summer," said Javier Fuentes Feo, president of the Tenique Cultural Association.

"With that purpose we have created a program for this summer of 2023 of up to 12 film sessions for all families. At Tenique Cultural we hope that the selected films will be to the liking of those who attend. It is a unique opportunity," he added.

Admission will be free until all seats are filled and it will not be necessary to reserve or purchase tickets in advance. The screenings, always at 9:00 p.m., will take place in July on the 14th and 15th (Haría), 21st and 22nd (Arrecife) and 28th, 29th (San Bartolomé). In August, on the 2nd and 3rd (Tinajo), 11th and 12th (Teguise), and 18th and 19th (Tías). All the information can be found on social networks and on the Tenique Cultural website.
