With the presence of the president of the César Manrique Foundation, José Juan Ramírez, the centenary Sociedad Democracia of Arrecife inaugurated the exhibition 'César Manrique. 100 Years of Life', an itinerant exhibition that shows the different facets of the artist from his beginnings to his last days as drawings, painting, architecture, published books, and panels where some phrases are collected that have become a claim and that many have already made their own.
The president of the Sociedad Democracia, Orlando Suárez, thanked the president of the FCM for the collaboration carried out by providing all the material exhibited there, also highlighting the collaborations that César had in his day with the society that he presides over today and revealing to the public present that the lamp that hangs in the hall on the upper floor is a work by César himself.
Next, José Juan Ramírez took the floor, who was very grateful for the interest that the management of the Sociedad Democracia had placed in bringing César's work closer to all its members and the general public, thanking them for their involvement with the different events that they have been celebrating such as the Folklore Encounter, the making of the salt carpet, the painting workshop for the little ones, the card game championship or the screening of the documentary 'Taro'.
After the words of José Juan Ramírez, the curator of the exhibition, Adonay BermÚdez, in charge of all the infrastructure to ensure that the public visiting the exhibition can get to know much better the legacy that César Manrique left us, spoke. The exhibition can be visited until July 11, in the morning and afternoon, in the hall of the Sociedad Democracia.
