This Thursday, April 27, the Titerroy festivities kicked off with the reading of the proclamation by lawyer Alejandro Díaz. A celebration that began on Monday, April 24 and will last until Monday, May 1.
Astrid Pérez, and the Councilor for Festivities, Encarna Páez, also dedicated a few words to the neighbors attending the event, which was attended by Manuel Fajardo, Jacobo Medina, Samuel Lemes, Pedro San Ginés, María Jesús Tovar, Rosmen, Alfredo Mendoza, Roy Gonzaález, Cristina Duque, Nova Kirpatrick, Armando Santana, Elizabeth Merino and the neighborhood priest, Manuel Arencibia.
In addition, on Wednesday Miguel de la Hoz, former soccer player and coach of the base of the Club Deportivo Orientación Marítima, gave a talk on the world of addictions and sports, and his personal struggle to get out of them.
During these five days of festivities, the little ones will be able to enjoy different workshops, as well as a simultaneous chess game for the older adults, with performances by a dance school, folklore with the musical group Son Del Norte, playback performances by the elderly and the performance of the Trientaytantos Group, with cover songs of Pop/Rock from the 70s, 80s and 90s. On Saturday there will be an assault party, also a Ginés Leal Hernández Indoor Soccer Tournament and the Procession of the Saint through the main streets of the neighborhood.
From the neighborhood association, we have "the desire for these days to experience days of harmony, enjoyment, tranquility and consideration," they say. "Everyone is invited and those who visit us and make these special days their own," they add.
"We take this opportunity to send a big hug to those people who will not be able to be among us these days, to those who are going through difficult times and to those who shared these parties for years and are no longer with us today", but that "we remember daily and would give anything to have them back by our side," they conclude.
As a culmination, the group "La Década Prodigiosa" will perform next Monday, May 1.
