The Timple House Museum has become a cultural reference not only for Teguise and Lanzarote but for all of the Canary Islands, hosting various cultural actions for this year. From the Teguise City Council, through the Culture area, the challenge of a new program of activities has been assumed, always marked by the Canarian identity, expressed through the different trends that seek to reconcile tradition and contemporaneity.
The Councilor for Culture of Teguise, Javier Díaz, states that "during the coming months, the different spaces of the House-Museum will host talks, exhibitions, workshops and concerts that will range from the musical theater of the Folk Canarias company to the urban music of Soul Sanet, going through the new airs of timple players such as Hirahi Afonso".
The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, relates that "the public will be able to enjoy a varied program that places emphasis, fundamentally, on the talent of our Canarian artists who are currently working in different fields of popular music of the islands, building bridges between the past and the present".
This Thursday, March 14 at 11.30 am, the town hall will present, in detail, the agenda of events of the Timple House-Museum, which is sponsored by the Government of the Canary Islands and the Cabildo of Lanzarote, in addition to the collaboration of the companies Binter Canarias and CICAR.
On the other hand, the Council, with its sights set on the renovation of the facilities and contents of the Timple House Museum, is carrying out different works that will allow the enjoyment of this space that is thirteen years old.
Among the main novelties is the change of furniture, graphics and information panels, as well as the creation of a media library with multimedia content, which will contribute to modernizing and improving the experience of visitors.
