The Teguiband Musical Association of Teguise offered the traditional concert last Thursday night, with which it presents its followers every year in the emblematic Los Árboles street in Teguise. But this year, with the rain warning activated, it had to be moved to the Santo Domingo convent. It was the Teguise music band in charge of livening up the room, a group of musicians made up of 30 members and led by Professor Ayoze Rodríguez.
The theme of the concert was called 'Back to the Eighties' and was based on recognized soundtracks from films, series or video games, beginning with the soundtrack of the film 'Back to the Future', composed by Alan Silvestri. As the director explained well, it is a way to start the time machine and thus "introduce ourselves to the eighties decade full of good music."
Immediately afterwards and letting the imagination fly, they traveled to Russia to perform the main theme of a mythical video game 'Tetris'. A melody that is a clear example of a catchy melody, composed by Nikoli Belikov and later, arranged by the Japanese composer Hirokazu Tanaka. Another of the soundtracks that the public could enjoy was the mythical one from the film 'E.T.', composed by John William and directed by Steven Spilelberg.
Reaching the middle of the concert, the chords of another of the great soundtracks linked to three greats such as Steven Spielberg and John William sounded, adding also George Lucas. To account for one of the most famous adventurers in the world of cinema such as 'Indiana Jones', the public let their imagination fly, putting on their hat and whip in hand and becoming super-heroes.
Also in the concert there was room for the tune of one of the video games that marked many as 'Super Mario Bross', where a review was made of the five themes that are part of all the musical accompaniment to the video game. The concert came to an end with the main march of the soundtrack of 'Police Academy', a comedy released in 1984 and which gave for seven parts plus an animated series, with the main march that had a military air that perfectly accompanied the adventures and misadventures that occurred in the craziest police academies in the world of cinema.
The public standing up did not stop applauding the musicians for the great work exhibited, where the professionalism, dedication and musical selection conquered them from the first moment. They were reciprocated with an encore giving a brief walk through some of the many themes that in the eighties left in the musical memory 'The Eighties' touring by the hand of Madonna and Michael Jackons, among others.
At the end of the concert, the councilors of the Teguise City Council present at the event, Francisco Javier Díaz de Cultura, Rita Hernández de Turismo and Ginés González, shared with the director Ayoze Rodríguez and musicians the development of the show while they tasted a glass of chocolate that was also distributed among the public.
