The well-known singer-songwriter Marwan will perform next Friday, March 18, at the Tías Municipal Theater. There he will present his latest record, "Notes on my passage through winter." The Madrid native of Palestinian roots arrives in Lanzarote after a tour of 250 concerts not only in Spain, but also in Latin America.
"Marwan has managed to become, thanks to word of mouth, one of the most recognized singer-songwriters on the Spanish circuit with sold-out shows in all cities and with spectacular numbers also in some Latin American countries, such as Mexico, Argentina, Chile or Colombia, despite being an independent artist without the help of any record label," they emphasize from the Tías City Council. This led the association of concert halls in Madrid "La Noche en Vivo" to award him the Guille 2011 Award as best singer-songwriter.
Marwan has also been selected by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development for its programming by Embassies and Cultural Centers in various countries. The singer-songwriter has a marked social facet, which can be seen in several of his songs. Thus he has sung to the "Meninos da Rua" of Brazil or in "Song to my father" he has recounted the childhood as a refugee child of his Palestinian father, in a convulsive era, just a few years after the creation of the State of Israel.
Currently, the expansion of the 'Marwan phenomenon' can be seen in facts such as the absolute sold-out that was recorded last July at the Teatro Circo Price in Madrid, with the attendance of 1,800 people, within the prestigious Veranos de la Villa cycle. Throughout his career, this Madrid singer-songwriter and poet has shared songs in his recordings with artists of the level of Ismael Serrano, Nach, Jorge Drexler, Andrés Suárez, Conchita or Ariel Rot. With almost 15 years in the world of music, the singer-songwriter has already become a "reference both in terms of singer-songwriting and current poetry", they emphasize from the Tías City Council.
His concert in Tías will begin at 9:00 p.m. on March 18. Tickets have already gone on sale and cost 14 euros in advance or 17 if purchased at the box office. They can be purchased at www.tomaticket.es and at the Pcan gas station in Tías.
