'Sounds of the Soul', 2024

The Municipal Theater of Tías hosted the 'Sounds of the Soul' concert last Saturday night, an event organized by the Department of Culture led by Pepa González.

It featured three great professionals who gave a concert that the audience supported with applause at all times. 'Sounds of the Soul' is a risky bet, where musicians and soloist took care of the smallest detail to achieve with a single staging that two genres of the show went hand in hand "intimate and acoustic".

José Vicente Pérez managed with his characteristic mastery to unite his timple and Venezuelan cuatro with the notes that were released from the guitar of another of the greats of music in Lanzarote, Adrián Niz. The musician cannot resist any of the instruments that he can caress with his hands, timple, guitar and Venezuelan cuatro united with the strength and determination of one of the best voices today in the Canary Islands of the Mogareño, Pedro Manuel Afonso.

Together they easily achieved the programmed objectives and the 90 minutes of concert was not enough for the public, so they had to do several encores at the end of their performance.

In a concert of these characteristics, with the timple and guitar present, good folías and seguidillas from Lanzarote could not be missing, as well as the Mazurca or Tamadaba, soundtracks of the popular Canarian songbook. In the instrumental acoustic part, compositions such as Así fue, Hotel California or Stomping Grounds, among others, were played. At the end of the concert, José Vicente, Adrián and Pedro Manuel chatted amiably with the public, also allowing themselves to take some photos as a souvenir.
