The Los Simplones murga kicked off this year's carnivals with their presentation. An event that took place on Friday night at the El Salinero theater.
Founded in 2005 and participating in the Arrecife Carnival murga competition for the first time in 2006, the group is made up of 40 members. Its president is Mencey Curbelo and its director Enrique Martín. This year they are wearing the fantasy "Like that of a soccer player, but a little finer." The song they sang was "A song in phases."
A gala, presented by Ro Garrigós, in which the Los Cumbacheros troupe, Drag Xoul, and David Perdomo also performed. The most emotional moment of the night was when the murga presented the "Carlos Pérez" trophy, which on this occasion was presented to the family of the deceased murguero and was collected by the widow of Carlos Pérez.
Among the spectators were members of children's murgas and also the president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, councilors and councilors of the Arrecife City Council were present.
