The Iris del Mar choir from Valterra offered a full concert of popular Christmas carols for the first time. The event took place on Tuesday night in the Iglesia Nuestra Señora del Carmen.

Neighbors from the seaside neighborhood supported the 25 members of the choir, who were accompanied on the piano by the musician and also neighbor Norbe Cruz. For 60 minutes and with great tuning and animation, they performed a wide range of popular Christmas carols such as 'Oh Blanca Navidad', 'Lo Divino', 'Cuéntame la Navidad', 'En medio de la noche', 'A las 12 en punto', 'Una sobre el mismo mar', etc. In many of the songs, the public could be heard whispering the lyrics, thus accompanying the Iris del Mar choir of Valterra, which was also highly applauded and complimented.

The Iris del Mar choir was formed when its members were girls and attended catechism to prepare for their first communion. It was then that Paco Martel, parish priest for those years, encouraged them to form a choir to sing at mass and so they continued until their adolescence. A few years ago, they returned to resume the activity, collaborating wherever their presence is required. Juan Antonio Gallego, current parish priest of Valterra and present at the concert, congratulated the choir at the end of the concert and thanked them for choosing the church in their neighborhood to offer their first Christmas concert.
