El Aljibe Hall Hosts Estefanía González's Exhibition, "Rosettes"

Last Saturday, the young artisan from Lanzarote, Estefanía González, presented her exhibition "Rosetas" in the "El Aljibe" exhibition hall in Haría. A very crowded event where the artisan values our signs of identity and traditions so that they are not forgotten and we do not lose the historical memory of our roots.

With her exciting work, Estefanía evolves the rosette towards different supports that bring it closer to use and integration into today's society. In this exhibition, visitors can observe how an ancestral tradition with imagination and dedication like the one Estefanía puts in can be turned around, without losing the traditional root to artisan works such as the rosette or empleita, making screens, bracelets, earrings, chairs, clocks or tables such as those that can be seen in the exhibition.

With this exhibition, Estefanía wants to encourage young people like her and make them aware that crafts should not only become a hobby, but that artisan work should be a source of income and thus be able to save the sector. For this, it is essential to renew yourself.

The young artisan felt very supported by family and friends who, despite the very controlled capacity due to covid reasons, did not want to miss the opportunity and thus be able to see her new works first-hand.

The exhibition will remain open until the end of next December.
