The Sociedad Democracia in Arrecife hosts the exhibition of Manuel Fleitas Paso de Chapista de Pintor since last Monday. At the inauguration, the president of the society Lorenzo Lemaur presented the painter Manuel Fleitas to the public there, explaining in detail some reviews of the artist, how and when he felt the bug for painting.
Manuel Fleitas is a native of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and at the age of 24 he moved to work as a bodybuilder in different workshops in Lanzarote until his retirement. It was during the confinement motivated by COVID-19 when he discovered his talent for painting.
Since then, in just over two years, he has created an important collection of paintings using different techniques. Among them, pyrography, practiced during his profession as a bodybuilder, a technique that he combines with acrylic paint. Currently his collection already exceeds 54 pictorial works in different modalities, sizes and techniques, on the walls of the Sociedad Democracia hang a total of 36 works. Manuel Fleitas, a professional bodybuilder and currently a retired, novice painter.
The exhibition can be visited in the morning and afternoon until the 16th of this month
