Within the framework of the Destiladera. Lanzarote revealed project, the Tenique Cultural association will offer a children's film workshop, which will be taught by the audiovisual artist and restorer of old films, Salvi Vivancos. Destiladera chinija: discovering cinema will take place on Saturday, June 29 at the Music Kiosk in the Ramírez Cerdá park in Arrecife starting at ten in the morning, with free access and prior registration, from this Tuesday, through the web.
The activity is planned for children between six and twelve years old and its development has the collaboration of the Culture and Tourism Departments of the capital's City Council.
The purpose of this proposal, with which Tenique Cultural delves into audiovisual pedagogy, is to make the little ones aware of the internal functioning of the cinematic image, from the principles of animation to current cinema.
Each participant individually performs the proposed exercises. The first part of the session consists of creating animation images imitating the first pre-cinema toys. Later, we work with materials such as slides and transparencies, which will be altered through direct intervention.
Next is the time to work with the 16mm film, with the distribution of footage, so that the attendees apply what they have learned in the previous exercises and contribute to the editing of the final collective film.
"Live" Digitization
Between Tuesday and Friday, Salvi Vivancos will collect materials and publicly show the work of digitizing old films, for all those interested in learning about this process.
Currently, the audiovisual artist directs his creative process towards experimental/expanded cinema and is mainly nourished by research around analog photography, memory, archive, non-narrative cinema and domestic cinema. He is responsible for the recovery of the film materials located in Lanzarote by Tenique Cultural, through his project "Destiladera. Lanzarote revealed".
