Presentation of Teguise Live

On the occasion of the International LGBT Pride Day on June 28, the Equality area of the Teguise City Council, coordinated by Isidro Alonso, is organizing "Teguise Live", an initiative that is part of the "Teguise+Diversa" project, following the roadmap of the LGTBIQ+ policies of the Canary Islands.

The "Teguise Live" program was announced on Friday morning at the Costa Teguise Civic Center, and was attended by drag queen Frenchy Morgana and a sample of her costumes.

The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, highlighted the commitment that "this will be a must in the annual calendar of the cultural and social agenda of Teguise." "It is a pride to be part of the struggle of all groups that claim their rights and want a fair recognition, which involves respect for all personal options."

For his part, Nahum Cabrera, as president of the Lánzate association, thanked that "Teguise joins the fight for diversity and considers that the Proud Tapa is one of the most interesting proposals for the dynamization it implies in the circular economy and consumption of local products", and highlighted "the importance of any action that promotes a more egalitarian society in which no one feels excluded".

Dynamization from June 26 to July 11

The program starts this Saturday, June 26, from 6 pm, in the more than 20 participating venues (cafes, bars and restaurants), with a Drag Route through Costa Teguise, as well as the Proud Tapa Festival, which will allow you to taste something special from June 26 to July 11 throughout the municipality.
