Procession of the Virgen del Carmen in Teguise

The Villa de Teguise celebrated the main day of the festivities in honor of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, with the solemn Eucharist at 1 p.m. this Saturday.

The religious act was by Juan Carlos Medina, Parish Priest of San Ginés, Archpriest of Lanzarote and Episcopal Vicar of Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and La Graciosa, and was assisted by the titular parish priest of Teguise, Matías Gula. The church of Ntra. Sra. de Guadalupe, had full capacity for the parishioners, civil and military authorities, on such a special day to honor the Patron Saint of the municipality.

Once the Holy Mass was finished, the procession with the image of Ntra. Sra. del Carmen, proceeded, touring the main cobbled streets of the Historic Site of Teguise, surrounded by the officiating priests, authorities and parishioners. During the processional route, the Teguise Music Band performed several compositions of its own for the occasion, and once the religious act was finished, a toast was offered in the Casa-Museo del Timple.
