The Tías City Council sponsors the first festival in Lanzarote based on the prominence of emerging talent in the Canary Islands Sísmico Fest. Organized by Rofe Producciones, the Plaza del Pavón will host a total of 13 activities throughout Saturday and Sunday morning, along with a craft and art market.
The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, the first deputy mayor, Nicolás Saavedra, the councilor for Culture, Pepa González, and the creative director of Rofe, Ubay Alemán, presented the content of Sísmico Fest, which aims to be a festival of critical thinking "with explicit reference to physical and mental movement through different proposals."
During the presentation, the characteristic of growth and development within the local artistic scene was highlighted, "which demonstrates a commitment to values related to culture and art," said Alemán. Both the producer and the political representatives encouraged the population of Lanzarote to attend the festival this weekend.
The program of Sísmico Fest Shake your world begins on Saturday at 10:30 am with a contemporary dance masterclass by Reinier Alfonso. It will continue with a family ceramics workshop taught by Senda Alemán, a cooking show with Alex Mercurio and Alejandro Sánchez, and a DJ set with Big Fayah.
On Saturday afternoon, there will be a poetry recital called Peaches and other poems, with Natalia León, an acoustic concert with Étel Santos, a creative painting workshop with Ellah and Josué Suárez, a live podcast with dressing room conversations, a workshop on initiation to vogue femme with Jayce Bodega, and an electronic show with M. Oznari.
Both on Saturday, from 12 to 9 pm, and on Sunday, from 10 am to 2 pm, an art, craft and brand market will be offered in the Plaza del Pavón. On Sunday, there will also be a characterization masterclass by Omar Whade, the singer Araia from Fuerteventura will offer a concert, there will be a discussion about community and art with Jayce Bodega, Laura Yasmine and Marianna Amorim, and, from 1 pm to 2 pm, a closing concert with Isa Izquierdo and MVBA.
