The spirit of carnival has shone brightly in San Bartolomé on one of its most anticipated days, the Day Carnival, which was held this Tuesday, March 4, despite the threat of rain and weather conditions.
From noon, and with a light rain as a companion, the historic center of the municipality has been filled with color, music and joy in a safe, familiar and festive atmosphere that has brought together hundreds of residents and visitors who did not hesitate to dance because, as Celia Cruz sang, “you don't have to cry, life is a carnival.”
And with that premise and more desire than ever, the day began at 12:00 hours with the expected Carnival Parade, which ran along Constitución Street to the Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente Park, at a brisk pace, giving way to a day full of good atmosphere to, from 13:00 hours, give way to the most musical part of this Tuesday.
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, highlighted the good reception of the Day Carnival and the participation of the public. “Despite the meteorological uncertainty, San Bartolomé has once again demonstrated that its carnival is synonymous with illusion and good work. Seeing the streets full of costumes, families and friends enjoying our party is a reason for joy because it means that the work done by the government team is bearing fruit.”
A celebration for all ages, safe and inclusive that, in the words of the Councilor for Festivities, Estefanía Luzardo, “is the reflection of a work done with great affection to offer a carnival from 0 to 100 years, and although the rain accompanied us, it was possible to comply with what was planned.”
Animated characters, original cars, cooks, comparsas and groups of friends and family, paraded through the historic center putting color, rhythm and fun to this parade, which culminated with the musical accompaniment of Idel el Mulatico, Orquesta Star Music, Orquesta Dani Valiente, Los Salvapantallas and DJ Ángel Pérez.
In this sense, the government team wants to thank all the people who are part of the carnival groups such as murgas, comparsas and dance groups, as well as the associations of mothers and fathers of the schools, the staff of professionals of the City Council and the security forces, emergencies and civil protection, as well as Local Police and Civil Guard for their participation and fundamental collaboration to make the parade and other activities possible.
