The Tinajo City Council has announced this Friday morning an expanded version of the program of festivities in honor of the Virgin of Los Dolores, the Patron Saint of Lanzarote. As a novelty, the council has announced the performance of Rosana from Lanzarote, the Tenerife folk group Los Sabandeños, and the Gran Canaria group composed of Olga Cerpa and Mestisay for next September 15, the big day of the celebrations.
At a press conference, the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín; the Councilor for Festivities, Jonathan Pérez Olivero; the Councilor of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Aroa Revelo; the president of CD Tinajo, as representative of the announcing club this year, Miguel Ángel Tejera; and the parish priest of Tinajo, Francisco José García, have reported on the program.
From September 1 to 15
The Island Craft Fair will celebrate its 36th edition this year, from September 10 to 15 and starring about 120 artisans.
The festivities kick off on Monday, September 1, with several championships in Mancha Blanca. The next day, September 2, the Empleíta Workshop arrives. The Roseta Workshop will be held on September 8. The festive program has activities for all tastes and ages. With events every day at the Socio-Cultural Center of Mancha Blanca.
On Friday, September 5, a weekend full of activity kicks off with the "Foam Party" and hiking, a prelude to the VII edition of the Tinajo You Trail, or the Los Dolores 2025 Basketball Tournament that will be held in the municipal pavilion.
On Tuesday, September 9, the amusement park will open on an inclusive day dedicated to children and young people with autism spectrum disorder. At 9:00 p.m. the opening speech of the festivities will take place by CD Tinajo on its 50th anniversary with the performance of Ciro Corujo (voice), Adrián Niz (guitar) and Alexis Lemes (timple).
The following day, Wednesday, September 10, at 5:30 p.m., the 36th edition of the Craft Fair will be inaugurated.
Humor will not be lacking in the Fiestas de Los Dolores. On Thursday, September 11, laughter will arrive with the comedian Yanely Hernández and Guarapo Gomero, which will coincide with the "Children's Day" and popular prices at the Amusement Fair, in addition to the children's playback and a tribute to Joaquín Sabina.
For Friday, September 12, the long-awaited Nanino Díaz Cutilla Folklore Meeting arrives in its thirty-fifth edition with the Group of Choirs and Dances of Arrecife, Beatriz Alonso and Javier Cerpa from Gran Canaria, Víctor Estárico from Fuerteventura, Almudena Hernández from La Graciosa, the palmeros "Los Arrieros", Candelaria Gorrín and Juanma Benítez from El Hierro, Juan Mesa and Tetrabaifo from La Gomera and Calicanto from the conejera island, all presented by Yeray Rodríguez.
On Saturday, September 13, the offerings arrive for Our Lady of Los Dolores to give way, immediately afterwards, to the Baile del Romero.
On September 14 we can enjoy the great concert of these festivities with the singer Vanesa Martín. It will be at 9:00 p.m., which will give way to a popular verbena enlivened by the orchestras Grupo Bomba and Banda Nueva.
Monday, September 15, will also be a special day as at 11:00 a.m. the solemn Eucharist will take place in the esplanade presided over by Monsignor Don José Mazuelos Pérez, the Craft Fair will be closed and you can enjoy, at 6:30 p.m. the concert of "Balada de Sabanda", where Los Sabandeños, Olga Cerpa and Mestisay will perform, and, later, at 9:00 p.m., the concert of the Lanzarote singer Rosana Arbelo.
The Councilor for Festivities, Jonathan Pérez Olivero, and the Mayor of the Tinajo City Council, Jesús Machín, have invited "all the citizens of Lanzarote and the rest of the Canary Islands, even those who come from other parts of the country to enjoy these festivities in honor of the patron saint of the island of Lanzarote".
"We offer again a varied and complete program with the aim that all attendees enjoy these parties in an esplanade of Mancha Blanca with its best finery".
