Record of participants in the XII edition of the Vertical Montaña Blanca

The sports day was held this Saturday, in which the hikers made a 6-kilometer route without a stopwatch, enjoying the good weather and the landscape.

The XII edition of the Vertical Montaña Blanca had a surprising record of 350 participants, thus covering the maximum number of places offered to compete in some of the five modalities.

The day began on Saturday morning with cool and cloudy weather, the 40 participants in the long distance, Fanega of 26 kilometers, were the first to leave the square at 8.30 am at a dizzying speed. It was Francisco José García who stopped the clock at 2 hours, 8 minutes and 31 seconds, lowering the record of the race by more than 7 minutes. In addition, Airam Arrocha Morales and Germán Pérez Delgado were the two members who followed him on the finish line.

In the women's category the victory went to Yvonne Radermacher, who stopped the clock in 2 hours, 46 minutes and 43 seconds. The second in this category was Rosa María Chincoa and in third place, Ildiko Casilla. In that category, the first to reach the finish line was Valeria Borges, with a time of 1 hour, 21 minutes and 21 seconds, as were Cristina Morales and Elizabet Perdomo, who were classified in second and third position. In the similar category Nuria Muñoz was victorious with a time of 30 minutes and 13 seconds, a score with which Anya Lamprecht continued, who entered second and Loreto Gargallo, who was positioned in third place.

In the Cuartillo category of 6 kilometers the victory was for Hugo Pérez, in addition to passing through the finish line in second and third place Acoran Rodríguez and Daniel Casanova. In the Almud Masculino category of 11 kilometers it was Saúl Rodríguez who dominated the race, with a time of 59 minutes and 28 seconds, followed by Juan Gregorio Tovar and Adrián Gil.

Once the race was finished in the adult categories, the children's race was held where the little ones made a 1.3 kilometer route demonstrating that there is wood and the future is guaranteed. Without a doubt, the largest group was that of the hikers with a total of 130 participants, who made a 6-kilometer route without a stopwatch enjoying the good weather and the landscape.

The Vertical Montaña Blanca has become the oldest of all mountain races on the island of Lanzarote with the support of the Department of Sports of the City Council of San Bartolomé in collaboration with Senderismo Lanzarote.
