The Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Joseph Fonseca, known artistically as 'Fonseca', will perform on March 7 in Lanzarote. According to La Voz, the author of hits such as Noche de Fantasía or Que levante la mano, will be one of the artists performing at El Varadero, in Puerto del Carmen.
Fonseca is one of the best-known artists in the genres of merengue and bachata. His music arose from the inspiration awakened by the merengue artist Wilfrido Vargas, after releasing the album Ese barrigón no es mío.
Interestingly, Joseph Fonseca narrated that he initially formed a group "to play rock by The Beatles and we ended up doing merengue."
The song Dame una oportunidad, from the album Noches de Fantasía, achieved a nomination for the Billboard Latin Music Awards in the category 'Revelation Artist' and also won the Premio Tu Música as 'Revelation Artist' in the year 2000.
His success has taken him to countries such as the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Panama, Spain, and the United States.
