'Pueblo Maho' will present the 'Juego del Palo 2023' day in Teguise next Saturday

Pueblo Maho will present the 'Juego del Palo 2023' day next Saturday, October 28 in Teguise. An event organized by the 'Asociación Cultural Pueblo Maho' that will take place throughout the day from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

On this occasion, the celebration will feature the participation of schools from all over the Canary Islands and special guests such as those from the Jogo do Pau school in Guarda, Portugal. In addition, this day will be enlivened by musical performances by the 'Ajaches de Femés' band and by the ancestral dance and music group from the Canary Islands, 'Ínsula'.

From the 'Pueblo Maho' association they wanted to express their "great satisfaction" for the presentation of this event that seeks to "promote the meeting and brotherhood between different styles and schools of Juego del Palo in the Canary Islands."

In this sense, the spokesperson for the cultural association Orlando Hernández, highlighted "the importance of preserving and disseminating the valuable intangible heritage represented by the Canarian Juego del Palo, so we have focused our efforts on bringing this noble art originating from our culture closer to the citizens."

On the other hand, Roberto Perdomo, president of 'Pueblo Maho', wanted to thank "the effort and dedication of the people of the association who have organized and made this 'Jornada de Juego del Palo 2023' possible." He also thanked "the availability and collaboration" of the different schools that will move to Lanzarote.

Finally, from the 'Asociación Cultural Pueblo Maho' they recall that "on this exciting day, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about an outstanding representation of one of the most significant sports and martial arts" and invite citizens to "not miss this opportunity to learn about this unique legacy."
