After the success of its first edition, the performing arts festival, Heart, returns to Playa Honda this fall. The City Council of San Bartolomé and Arenao Producciones, announce that the program will take place during the weekend of October 20 to 22, "making the promenade beat once again with cultural proposals for all audiences."
This year, the Heart organization has decided to open a call prior to the festival, inviting Canarian companies or artists to present their cultural proposals with street shows, which include the disciplines of dance, theater, clown, literature and plastic arts, among others.
The call will be open from August 10 to 20, 2023. The selected ones will be announced between September 4 and 11. Those interested can submit their projects through the form available at the following link: https://forms.gle/4HRj9b8DpSGQ1HRr7 . For any questions, the following email address will be available: participacion@heartlanzarote.com.
Heart will once again have different stages that will beat along the Avenida de Playa Honda, surprising and conquering young and old. As it did in its first edition, it will take place from Friday to Sunday almost entirely in daytime format, allowing people of all ages to enjoy its program from morning to night.
Its purpose will be to offer unforgettable experiences through shows and workshops with culture as a common thread, without neglecting its firm commitment to sustainability and the circular economy. The objective: to share the festival as a family and, at the same time, generate a space for interaction by the population to transmit values and promote practices that create awareness about the environment and respect for our island.
The City Council of San Bartolomé enthusiastically celebrates a second edition of the Heart festival in Playa Honda. Its mayor, Isidro Pérez, valued the proposal stating that it is "a clear example of how culture strengthens the connection between our society and its environment. Like the outstanding 'Mar en Calma' festival, recently distinguished in tourism, these events demonstrate San Bartolomé's commitment to cultural initiatives that, in turn, enhance and value our heritage and landscape."
It should be remembered that Heart was a finalist in the Iberian Festival Awards, in the Non-Musical Festival category. Specifically, it was positioned among the five best festivals in Spain for the originality of its program, enclave and care of the environment.
The performing arts festival is an initiative framed in the cultural promotion plan of San Bartolomé, a municipality that has long acquired a firm commitment to social, cultural, artisanal, tourist and commercial integration. This event is further proof of the dedication to promote community well-being through the promotion and celebration of culture.
