2023 Carnival Poster in Playa Blanca

The tourist town of Playa Blanca promotes its 2023 carnival festivities scheduled from Thursday, March 16 to Sunday, March 19, revealing the image of this collective event inspired by the environment. That is why the winning poster of the municipal contest reflects relevant graphic messages about the care of the planet, but preserves the color of the holiday, whose design is by the illustrator Rubén Lucas García, who has received the 1,500 euros established in the rules of the call published by the Yaiza City Council in October of last year.

After the jury's decision, the mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, and the Councilor for Celebrations, Javier Camacho, informed the winner, immediately proceeding to reveal the poster of the southern Carnival, which "will arrive loaded with a lot of music and shows", they point out from the Yaiza City Council.

"The Playa Blanca Carnival is a celebration participated by our neighbors, but also by the people of Lanzarote and tourists, so we prepare the program with love and enthusiasm so that we all have a great time in an atmosphere of joy, cordiality and hospitality", notes Javier Camacho.

The poster is full of masquerades and emblematic places of the municipality and, among them, you can detect messages promoting recycling, saving natural resources, mobility by bicycle or ecological agriculture. Javier Camacho points out that in Yaiza they develop "various environmental initiatives" promoted by the area led by Águeda Cedrés, and it seemed "appropriate to add to the efforts of citizen awareness through the Carnival." In addition, Camacho considers that the neighbors "will also do so with their costumes and allegories in the parade and other acts of the festivity".
