Playa Blanca exudes pure joy in its Carnival parade

Hundreds of people did not want to miss the carnival atmosphere of the tourist town

Carnivals in Playa Blanca

The tourist town of Playa Blanca experienced on Saturday an afternoon carnival exuberant with joy cheered by the enthusiasm of hundreds of revelers and very well-crafted allegories that supported the essential animation of fourteen floats and twelve touch and dance groups from different municipalities of Lanzarote. From there, the street expressed its revelry in the multitudinous route of ingenuity, "mockery" and "good vibes" of the main actors of the arena and the accomplice public who also enjoyed the parade.

Winking at the allegory proposed by the 2024 Carnival, Playa Blanca saw endless costumes of different species of the animal world, individual and group costumes, and floats representative of the animal kingdom as the decorated vehicle where the elders of Yaiza paraded, always very participatory and great enthusiasts of popular festivals.

Playa Blanca also seduced spruced-up "old ladies", and even a trio of them carrying a suitcase full of aromatic herbs. Charlot could not miss to remind us of the greatness and good heart of one of the legends of cinema, but in that conspiracy of teasing also made room 'brawny' babies, who thanks to the independence offered by their rustic taca -taca, wandered independently through the parade without requiring the help of their families.

Some Indiano lost from La Palma also appeared in Playa Blanca full of talcum powder, also glamorous ladies who emptied stores and closets to flirt. Last-minute outfits from the Chinese and piles of masks and costumes made with recyclable material joined to give light to the path of joy.

Of course, the music omnipresent. The Yaiseros and Timanfeiros troupes did not tire of dancing showing all their creative potential and sympathy. The Villa Pipol and Atenya batucadas did the same playing percussion, while the groups of children's and adult murgas gave color and charm.

Two of the cultural groups with the longest tradition and carnival trajectory of Lanzarote and the Canary Islands also participated in the Playa Blanca arena, Los Diabletes de Teguise and the Parranda Marinera Los Buches. Their presence represents a significant part of the heritage value of the land.

To all of them, the mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, and the Councilor for Celebrations, Javier Camacho, on behalf of the City Council of Yaiza, publicly express their gratitude for decorating and enriching the most important day of Carnival.

The Institution also wants to highlight the work of the Local Police of Yaiza, Civil Protection Yaiza, Firefighters of the Consortium and the preventive services of all security and emergency entities that ensured the tranquility of neighbors and tourists.
