Pedro Manuel Afonso at the Convent of Santo Domingo

The Gran Canaria singer Pedro Manuel Afonso presented his show 'Legends' last Friday night at the Santo Domingo Convent in Teguise.

His new project is a different show in which Afonso performs great Latin and classic songs that have been sung by national and international artists such as Nino Bravo, José Luis Perales, Roberto Carlos, Camilo Sesto, Raphael or Rocío Jurado among others. A diversity of rhythms and styles that the singer has taken to his field with very careful arrangements. A selection of songs carefully chosen for a unique occasion, and which are collected on a CD recorded live at the Agüimes Theater Auditorium in Gran Canaria.

On this tour, Pedro Manuel Afonso is accompanied by 8 great musicians and a couple of exceptional dancers with an impeccable staging, a show where the attending public has the opportunity to remember those songs, soundtracks that accompanied them and continue to accompany them, making them remember those moments when as children they listened at home or in the car with their parents and that later continued to accompany them today.

The dedication, simplicity and affection that characterizes Pedro Manuel in each of his performances easily gets the public involved, accompanying him in each of his songs, singing as much or more than him, and in the end the more than 90 minutes of concert leaves them wanting more.

Pedro Manuel began singing in various folk groups from a very young age, taking the leap as a member of the Choir of the Philharmonic of Gran Canaria, continuing his musical training in the area of singing with the teacher Mario Guerra de León. Professor at the Higher Conservatory of Gran Canaria, his wide vocal range and technique allows him to perform any type of song and genre, and on Friday night he proved it again, getting the audience to their feet chanting his songs. At the end of the concert, the Councilor for Culture of the Teguise City Council, Javier Díaz, the First Deputy Mayor, Rita Hernández, and the Councilor for Commerce and Consumption, María de las Nieves Martínez, took the stage to present him with the poster announcing the concert.

Legends, a musical show for everyone where young and old people wanting to have a good time to the sound of good music have their place.
