The Theater Hall of the Atlántida Cinema in Arrecife was the scene last Saturday of the talk Educating from tranquility, given by the pediatrician Lucía Galán Bertrand, known as Lucía, My Pediatrician, who enjoys wide popularity on social networks.
In this new meeting, framed within the Lanzarote en Familia cycle, organized by the Youth Area of the Lanzarote Island Council, coordinated by Aroa Revelo, fundamental topics were addressed on physical and emotional health in childhood, adolescence and adulthood, providing practical tools and advice for parents, mothers and educators.
“It has been a pleasure to have in Lanzarote one of the most influential women in Spain in the field of pediatrics, and the truth is that the response from the families of the island has been very positive,” said Councilor Aroa Revelo, assuring that “the Council will continue offering training spaces for the family environment and for professionals in the educational and healthcare sector.”
The speaker Lucía Galán Bertrand thanked the island corporation for the invitation and won over the public by sharing her professional experience as a pediatrician, as well as her personal learning as a mother of two teenagers. The process of women during pregnancy, postpartum, or breastfeeding, as well as the importance of vaccination among the little ones, were some of the issues addressed from the responsibility, affection and social commitment that defines the pedagogical and informative work she carries out as a pediatrician with 20 years of experience, and as a founding partner of Centro Creciendo and author of fourteen books with Editorial Planeta, with more than a million followers on her Instagram profile @luciamipediatra.
This new appointment of Lanzarote en familia concluded with a round table with the specialist in Pediatrics, María del Carmen Segoviano Lorenzo; the psychologist specialized in child-juvenile, Alicia López Covarrubias, and the physiotherapist expert in Urogynecology, Obstetrics and Dysfunctions of the Pelvic Floor, Mónica Vargas Roca, who moderated the meeting.
During the discussion, issues that concern society in general, and the educational and health community in particular, were raised, such as respiratory diseases in schools and the vaccination campaign that will begin over these days through an intranasal vaccine.
