The 'San Bartolomé Carnival 2024' kicked off this Sunday with the Presentation Gala that took place at the Municipal Theater. A day full of music, rhythm and joy in which the local groups, the Afilarmónica 'Las Revoltosas' and the batucada 'Guaychara', were the protagonists, filling the stage with color, tradition and illusion together with the comparsa 'Los Cumbacheros', the murga 'Las Inadaptadas', Iballa González and the dance couple Marcos and Ainara.
This day begins an inclusive and family program, full of activities for all audiences, and that will extend throughout the municipality until February 16.
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, thanked the Department of Festivities and all the areas of the City Council "for their work in launching this celebration." In addition, he had a "special recognition" for local groups and associations, to whom he valued their work and effort "thanks to which in the municipality we maintain the essence and carnival spirit."
The program of events continues this week with the celebration of the Carnival Afternoon. These will take place on Tuesday, February 6, in Montaña Blanca; on Wednesday, February 7, in Güime; and on Thursday, February 8, in El Islote; with a children's workshop, playroom and face painting at the Civic Center of each town from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
On Saturday, February 10, the Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente park in San Bartolomé will host the 'Drag Gala' at 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday, February 11, it will be the turn of the 'Carnaval Chinijo', from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with inflatables, face painting, a playroom, giant dolls and a children's show. During the day there will be an individual, couples and group children's costume contest, whose registrations will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the venue.
Next Tuesday, February 13, the Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente Park will experience one of the most anticipated days with the celebration of the Day Carnival, which will begin at 12:00 p.m. with the parade and with the performances of Pepe Benavente, Orquesta Star Music, Nueva Década, Orquesta Maquinaria Band and Dj Ángel Pérez from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
From Thursday, February 15, the program will move to Playa Honda, with Carnival Afternoon in Santa Elena Square from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with inflatables, face painting, a playroom, giant dolls, virtual reality and a children's murga show.
The events will end on Friday, February 16, with the Guachinango Burial Parade starting at 6:00 p.m. in Playa Honda and with the performance of the groups 'Tabaiba Mestizo' and 'Jaleo' on the Avenue.
