Yaiza experienced one of the great days of its Los Remedios festivities this Wednesday, with the Marta Sánchez concert. The City Council highlights that the artist managed to excite the attendees, and that she herself was also excited. In fact, they emphasize that she said goodbye "with tears on her face and barely able to articulate words to express her gratitude for the splendid response from the public."
The show that she brought to the south of Lanzarote, ‘A solas’, is a review of her 37 years of artistic career, in a concert that she describes as "minimalist". She was only accompanied by two female voices and a great piano performance, to give life to songs as well known as ‘Desesperada’, ‘Moja mi corazón’, ‘Dime la verdad’, ‘Colgando en tus manos’ and ‘Soldados del amor’, her mythical encouragement to the Spanish troops together with Olé, Olé in the early nineties.
During her performance, organized by the Yaiza City Council, Marta Sánchez also sent several messages to the attendees: "The public makes the songs famous, not the artist”
In addition, she took a few minutes to honor the figure of her father, Antonio Campó, a Spanish opera singer who forged a close friendship with the Gran Canaria lyric tenor Alfredo Kraus, who ended up being Marta Sánchez's godfather, in such a way that since she was a child she has grown up surrounded by art.
Before her performance, the night was opened by the energy and march of the Dance Pop ballet, directed by Ruyman Medina.
The Yaiza City Council, represented by its mayor, Óscar Noda, and the Councilor for Festivities, Javier Camacho, wanted to thank the participation of the residents of Yaiza and all the people of Lanzarote.
