The town of Mácher hosted the Diwali celebration this weekend.
Diwali, row of lights or the triumph of light over darkness, is the most important festival in India. It also marks the beginning of a new year. Lanzarote, and especially the municipality of Tías, welcomes an important Hindu community that celebrates this festival in the sociocultural center of Mácher.
The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, and the councilors Pepa González, Miriam Hernández and Sergio García, also enjoyed the party.
