The Tías City Council presented this Tuesday the program of the Puerto del Carmen festivities in honor of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, which will begin on August 1 and culminate on the weekend of August 13 and 14, with the maritime procession on Saturday and sung mass and procession on land on Sunday at 7:00 p.m.

The mayor, José Juan Cruz, and the Councilor for Festivities, Sergio García, also presented the poster announcing the program, published in Spanish and English, which highlighted the organization and work of the La Tiñosa festival committee, the numerous participating groups and the different council departments that also participate.

The proclamation of the festivities in honor of Nuestra Señora del Carmen will be offered by Domingo Delgado Morín, who was general director of Fisheries of the Government of the Canary Islands, Fisheries technician of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and linked to the Fishing associations of La Tiñosa and Arrecife. He is currently an honorary advisor to the Cabildo on fishing matters.

Among the numerous events, the City Council highlights the "star dish" of the musical section with the performance of the rocker Loquillo, who will present his latest album, `El Rey´, on August 11 at 10 p.m. in the Plaza del Varadero.

There will also be violet information and advice points on respect for women in the Plaza del Varadero, booths that were already placed in previous editions. This information point will be active from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. on August 5, 6, 12 and 13.

As a novelty of the program, there will be an inclusive day scheduled for Sunday, August 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a day dedicated to children and young people with autism spectrum disorder, as the attractions and stalls will be opened without music and with low lighting.

The complete program can be consulted on the website of the Tías City Council and on its social networks.
