The town of Masdache will intensely experience its traditional festivities in honor of Santa María Magdalena from July 11 to 22. The program combines music, sports, children's activities and, as a great novelty, a popular pilgrimage together with the town of Conil in a neighborhood meeting that promises to be one of the most emotional moments of these festivities.

The celebration kicks off on Wednesday, July 9 with the envite championship, giving way to the official inaugural act on Friday the 11th, with the II Parade and musical performance by Deportes Yajova and Aura Novias & Fiesta, followed by the music of the Nueva Década group.

On Saturday the 12th, the little ones will be able to participate in the workshop "Create your rosette clock", while at night a lively festival will be held with the K.Libre (Fuerteventura) and Banda Nueva orchestras, after the traditional playback of the Pimpollitos. On Sunday there will be a fun foam party with inflatables, DJ Ángel Pérez will perform, and you can enjoy a theatrical session by the Faranduleando group with the play Assassinate me, please.

During the week, the “Cuatro Esquinas” Sociocultural Center will host daily children's workshops, creative activities such as making hats or mandalas, and gastronomic contests for desserts, liqueurs and tortillas. There will also be championships of chinchón, ronda and male ball, as well as the dance for the elderly and a lively lottery on Thursday the 17th.

Joint pilgrimage

The weekend of July 19 and 20 will concentrate the most important events. In fact, on Saturday morning the Masdache Run children's race of 7 kilometers and hiking will take place, as well as the macramé workshops.

Masdache and Conil (which will celebrate its festivities from July 18 to 28) will join on July 19 in a great popular pilgrimage with an offering to the Virgen de la Magdalena. Both towns will meet at the La Magdalena hermitage in Entre Montañas (Conil), which will be opened to the public in a gesture of brotherhood, and will continue the journey towards Masdache.

All residents are invited to collaborate with the contribution of desserts, and the participating carts will be given a bag of feed. At night, there will be a meeting of parrandas with the participation of groups such as Los Labradores, El Golpito, Sondemar, Callao (Fuerteventura) and Pal’porrón.

On Sunday the 20th, the long-awaited Vendimia Festival will be held, in which attendees are invited to wear their most original hat related to the theme of the harvest. The author of the most creative hat will win “their weight in wine”. The popular singer Pepe Benavente and the Banda Nueva orchestra will perform.

Monday the 21st will be dedicated to folklore with the Folklore Encounter between the Gaida (Masdache) and Virgen de las Nieves de Tanos (Santander) groups, in a cultural exchange of music and dance that strengthens ties between the islands and the peninsula.

The festivities will culminate on Tuesday the 22nd with the function and procession in honor of Santa María Magdalena, accompanied by the Unión Musical de Lanzarote band, and the performances of the Teguey folk group and the magician Karim, who came from Madrid to close the celebrations with a show of illusion and fantasy.
