The Arrecife Cultural Innovation Center (CIC) hosted this Wednesday the presentation of the fourth edition of the Traslación Dance Festival. Its director, Acerina H. Toledo, points out that its objective is to "elevate Lanzarote as a source of art through the proposals of contemporary dance and the island's orography." The event will run until November 13 and will tour five different municipalities.
According to the Cabildo, "the growth of the festival and the high impact obtained in previous editions has favored that on this occasion the natural settings extend through five municipalities." In total, thirteen locations in Arrecife, Haría, San Bartolomé, Teguise and Tías will host "the staging of 22 works, performed by more than 30 artists."
Traslación has managed to "revalue", in the three previous editions, "the natural heritage of the island by achieving images of great beauty with the dance proposals selected in the various places of Lanzarote, helping to promote the island as an open-air cultural space", highlight from the Cabildo.
The Minister of Culture of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Alberto Aguiar, has expressed that "this festival generates an enveloping effect that helps to encourage the approach of the public, residents and visitors, to dance, so important and necessary in the cultural panorama of Lanzarote." In addition, the councilor has described Traslación as "a unique festival, as it relates this artistic expression to our architectural and landscape corners of high heritage value, turning them into scenarios where pieces of high beauty are created."
