Lanzarote has a new space for poetry lovers

It is conceived as a space designed for those who wish to explore, enjoy, and debate the beauty of poetry in the company of other enthusiasts

Encuentro poesía

The Tías City Council, through the Culture area managed by Pepa González, has promoted, together with the Canarian Cultural Association of Writers (Acte Canarias), the creation of the first poetry reading group in Lanzarote.

This group, called La Ermita, meets monthly, every second Monday of the month, at the Ermita de San Antonio, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., to share readings and analyze works by different authors and styles, mutually inspiring each other to continue exploring the world of poetry.

Pepa González explains that this cultural proposal has been coordinated by Manuel Concepción, poet and writer member of Acte Canarias. She adds that it is conceived as a space designed for those who wish to explore, enjoy, and debate the beauty of poetry in the company of other enthusiasts.

This group is open to all interested parties, from amateurs to experts, and seeks to promote literary appreciation, the exchange of ideas, and the creation of a community that celebrates the poetic word. No previous experience is necessary.
