After the break caused by Covid, the Sociedad Democracia of Arrecife is gradually resuming its cultural activities in compliance with health protocols. Thus, on Tuesday night it hosted the opening of the exhibition 'Arrecife de Mar', by David García,
The president of the Sociedad Democracia, Juan Carlos Alonso, was in charge of presenting the event and was very excited to once again dress the walls of the entity's hall with culture, inviting all those present to enjoy the events that will be programmed on the occasion of the upcoming San Ginés festivities.
Alonso congratulated David García for the extraordinary pictorial work related to the seafaring Arrecife and made a call to preserve the few signs of identity that remain. He then gave the floor to the author of the exhibition, David García, who in great detail described each of the works on display, all of them related to the Arrecife that he knew and still keeps in his memory.
During the presentation, García made a call to leaders and Arrecife residents in general to put an end to the term "ugly duckling", which for many years has been imposed on a city, which according to him is very beautiful and has an impressive marina, although in part of it some impressive concrete fences have been erected preventing to contemplate its extraordinary beauty.
'Arrecife de Mar' invites us to find the Arrecife that guides us to the coast of our being to tell the story again. Swarms of boats, silent feluccas, horizons of marinas... Its author, David García, actively participates in the different days of "Teaching Art" organized by the CEP. He has collaborated in his different exhibitions capturing his particular and unique artistic language through photography, painting, sculpture and cinema. The exhibition 'Arrecife de Mar' consists of 20 works painted with ink, pastel and watercolors. The exhibition will be on display until August 29 and can be visited in the morning and afternoon.
