Last Friday, the musical group "Calicanto" came down from La Villa de Teguise to the Port of Arrecife to present their musical project in La Recova "A Decade of Singing to Love".
A project created to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the group's founding, in which they review some of the successes that have taken them to the stages and that have been widely applauded by the public. Calicanto has played different genres such as boleros, rancheras, bachata, pop, also winking at some composition with Canarian roots such as the isa and folía. All with musical arrangements adapted to their voices under the musical direction of Vanessa Rijo and the special collaboration of six great musician friends who join in these special concerts incorporating their string, percussion and wind instruments, making the soloists feel much more supported in each of their interventions. In addition, this performance also featured the voice of the young Alejandro Machín with vocal qualities that allow him to interpret all kinds of musical genres.
For Calicanto it was the first time that they performed in such an emblematic place in the history of Lanzarote as La Recova, where the contact with the public is felt as soon as they start their performance, getting them to participate with them by doing the choruses and clapping in those songs that are already part of the universal musical anthology. Calicanto is preparing a new repertoire for the new summer concerts, participating in the festivals of our towns and neighborhoods, bringing their joy and good work as they have been doing for these 10 years.
