The most international Canarian singer, José Vélez, put the finishing touch to the San Marcial del Rubicón festivities on Saturday night. The tent installed in the square next to the church was too small to accommodate so many followers who waited impatiently next to the protective fence from early on. Once again, José Vélez demonstrated that, after 43 years on stage, he has earned his recognition through hard work, always giving his best to not disappoint his admirers.
Since the beginning of his career, Vélez has always taken to the stage accompanied by his orchestra. For this concert he had 12 professional musicians who, from beginning to end, showed total complicity with the singer. José Vélez made an extensive tour of some of the songs that have always accompanied him: "Este oficio de cantante", "Él ha llegado a la ciudad", "Resistiré", "Canarito", "A cara o cruz" and many more songs that the public also sang along to with powerful voices that echoed under the tent canvas. When the concert was already considered finished, and in response to the public's demand, he returned to the stage, gifting them with several encores. Once again, José Vélez demonstrated that wherever he goes he continues to conquer with his professional expertise.
José Vélez's concert began with the performance of Alexia Caraballo, who shone brightly in the musical contest "La Voz Kids", in the team led by the singer Melendi. This very young resident of the municipality took to the stage accompanied by the Lanzarote musicians Roberto Gil and Adrián Niz, and with great confidence performed three songs, ending with the popular "El sol no regresa" by the group La quinta estación. From her appearance on stage, Alexia Caraballo was very supported by the public, quickly overcoming the nerves with which she had begun her performance. An experience that the young singer will not forget and that will surely allow her to continue gifting her voice to the public on many stages.
