The Haría City Council is organizing a program dedicated to the 'Noche de Finaos' (Night of the Deceased) next Tuesday, October 31, in order to "honor" this Canarian tradition. Among the events scheduled for this night, there will be a
theatrical performance under the title 'By the Light of the Candles', by the production company 'Vértice', which will tour the Plaza de Haría, at 8:00 p.m.
The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, invites residents and visitors of the municipality to participate in the planned events and "not miss the opportunity to enjoy theatrical performances that keep Canarian culture alive." For her part, the Councilor for Culture, Paula Montero, highlights that this will be the "first time that an event is held on the 'Noche de Finaos' making reference to our tradition." "We thank 'Vértice Producciones' and the 'Asociación VivHaría' for supporting our culture and contributing to the continued development of these events," she says.
Montero recalls that in addition to the staging, activities and musical performances, you can enjoy a "tasting of seasonal products." Likewise, the first deputy mayor Chaxiraxi Niz insists that the City Council maintains its "commitment to Canarian culture" through the celebration of traditional events.
The program will begin at 6:00 p.m. with inclusive children's and youth activities, through which traditional lantern workshops, face painting, 'finaos' gymkhana and snacks will be held at the Cultural Center
'La Tegala'. In addition, in the Plaza de Haría, at 6:30 p.m., there will be a workshop by Antonio Orellana and Acerina H. Toledo, within the framework of the 'V Dance Festival'.
Among the scheduled events there will be musical performances by the 'Rancho de Pascua', the 'Agrupación Folclórica Malpaís de la Corona', 'Lajalada' and the 'Pal' Porrón' and 'El Golpito' parrandas.
