Last night, the town of Femés ended its patron saint festivities with a high-level musical evening, full of emotion, identity and beautiful sounds, starring the Canarian group Los Cantadores, with the special collaboration of Shaila Dúrcal and the outstanding participation of local soloists Inma Sepúlveda and Eliezer Betancort. One hundred and twenty minutes of music in which they overflowed with talent, magic and feeling, and which Femés thanked with powerful ovations.

With a powerful staging and accompanied by almost a dozen musicians, Los Cantadores offered in this XVII San Marcial de Rubicón Soloists Meeting a complete and powerful repertoire that traveled from the heart of the Canary Islands to the other side of the Atlantic, traversing sounds from Mexico, Cuba and Colombia, among others. 'El alma del tambor', a school anthem composed for the Descent of the Virgen de Los Reyes, 'El Zagalejo', Folías or 'Canarias', a heartfelt song that has been touring the archipelago's stages with them for 18 years, provided the local flavor; while that special connection that unites us to the rhythms and feelings of countries like Mexico, Cuba or Colombia arrived with 'Bohemio de afición', the bolero 'Si tú me dices ven', 'Corazón salvaje', 'Tata Mayarí' or 'La gota fría'. An outpouring of energy, quality and feeling with active participation from the public, who did not stop singing along and clapping.

The most anticipated moment arrived with the appearance of Shaila Dúrcal on stage, who was received with a great ovation to begin with her delicate 'Vuélvete la luna', then starring in one of the most magical and emotional moments of the night by performing, along with her deceased but present mother through a screen, the classic 'Amor eterno' by the great Rocío Dúrcal, making the whole square vibrate with this musical offering to the love that never fades. Visibly moved and grateful for the warmth received in Femés, the youngest of the Dúrcal family gave another of her songs, 'Tanto cielo perdido', and the ranchera 'Como tu mujer' that her mother used to sing.

The invited local soloists were also outstanding, demonstrating that there is a lot of talent in the municipality and on the island, firstly Elieser Betancort with 'Nube de hielo', a delicate and beautiful piece by the great Benito Cabrera, of those that make your skin tingle; and then Inma Sepúlveda, who also made us shudder with her torrent of voice and the impressive interpretation of 'Como la flor', by the Texan artist Selena Quintanilla, to whom they wanted to pay homage on the 30th anniversary of her murder.

An exceptional evening with two hours of good music and emotions on the surface, which 'Los Cantadores' closed by sending a positive message to the world, of unity, full of hope, joy and vitality, hand in hand with Diego Torres and his 'Color Esperanza'.

The councilor for Festivities of Yaiza, Daniel Medina, points out that "it has been a privilege for the people of Femés to experience a spectacle of this magnitude, grateful for an exceptional response from the public and artists who have left their hearts on stage".
