Four days in which you can enjoy four different artistic languages, with the common denominator of betting on contemporary performing arts and having creators from Lanzarote and the Canary Islands as protagonists. That is what Cubo Escénico offers, a new cultural cycle launched by the Culture area of the Cabildo de Lanzarote and which will take place in the El Cubo room of the CIC El Almacén.
Performance, dance, music and theater will be the arts that can be enjoyed in this first edition of Cubo Escénico, which will take place between January 15 and 18.
Parto Cerebral and their 'Papá Estado'
The first to take the stage will be the members of Parto Cerebral, who will offer their performance 'Papá Estado' on Wednesday, January 15 in two shows, at 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
'Papá Estado' is a performance created and produced by Parto Cerebral, with projections by Félix Díez, music by Alberto Pérez, audiovisual design by David GP, costumes by Emma López Leyton and Sheila Betancort and with the actors Yuri Fontes, Ayta Mesa and Moisés Fleitas. 'Papá Estad'o is an androgynous being who watches over, feeds and indoctrinates the inhabitants of a world in which they are breastfed with the sweet milk of lies, suffer the violence of a false doctrine.
Dance with Acerina Toledo and Abián Hernández
Thursday, January 16 will be the turn of contemporary dance. The dancer from Lanzarote, Acerina Toledo, will offer her piece 'Mientras' at 8:00 p.m. and the dancer Abián Hernández will perform 'Espera' at 9:00 p.m.
Both are dance pieces created with different choreographies that are born with the same concept: the time of waiting for something or someone, as well as the new paths that open up in spaces and times of waiting. We decide what that wait is like, anchored to the past or active, and we live the "while" as an active space that generates new paths. During that time we continue creating, the result sometimes being better than what is being expected.
Eduardo Briganty's guitar and Dévora Ventura's 'Palabras de Mujer'
Eduardo Briganty will present his latest work 'Microgamas', a risky and experimental musical project in which, as an intense cosmic pass, he creates harsh, dense and synthetic soundscapes, creating hypnotic atmospheres and universes that seek to lead the listener to intense emotional states through abstraction, melancholy or darkness, with sounds close to noise and with the electric guitar as the true protagonist. It will be on Friday, January 17 at 9:00 p.m.
'Palabras de mujer' is a creation by Dévora Ventura written from the observation and reflection that this author makes about loneliness, about the human being's capacity to reinvent himself in the face of unusual and dramatic situations, as well as about the innate need for approval and need for consideration by others. These are four intertwined monologues performed by women who reflect on loneliness and the human being's capacity to reinvent themselves in the face of unusual and dramatic situations.
Directed by Válery Tellechea, this theatrical piece is performed by the actresses Virginia Barreto, Tharais Armas, Carmen Sancristóbal, Lourdes Bermejo and Marilyn Chacón. 'Palabras de mujer' can be seen on Saturday, January 18 in two shows, at 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
