Photography lovers in Lanzarote will have the opportunity to enjoy an immersive experience in the PhotoWalk Lanzarote'22, these are training sessions in which they will have access to new fields of the discipline and in which they will make field visits to unusual corners of the island. In addition, this activity will feature the presence of Carmela García, a photographer from Lanzarote, who will be in charge of teaching these sessions. This proposal, organized by the Tourist Centers and the Cabildo of Lanzarote, will take place between October 28 and 31 at the Casa del Museo del Campesino.

The Lanzarote photographer, who has stated that "we are going to generate events and work in significant and inspiring spaces away from the most stereotypical vision of the island, following in the footsteps of filmmaker Ulrike Ottinger and her work La imagen de Dorian Gray y la prensa amarilla".

The central element of the photographer's work is the double need to rethink and change the world. Carrying it out from a gender perspective does not only imply a simple way of projecting the need for another future, but also means, in the first instance, a scenario of vindication of a different consideration of the feminine in the world.

Her work unfolds as an exercise that develops both from the history of social relations between women and in an ongoing fiction that offers us oblique visions of personal contact, affinities and love between them.

Benjamín Perdomo, CEO of the Tourist Centers, encourages the population "to take part in an initiative that will allow us to explore more unknown corners of the unique island geography through the eyes, the objective and the experience of this renowned professional from Lanzarote".
