Arrecife hosts the double presentation of 'Puto Optimista' by Pepe Vera

The presentation of the work will be on Thursday at the Agustín de la Hoz House of Culture and on Friday at the Pancho Lasso Art School of Arrecife

The city of Arrecife will host a double presentation of the book Puto Optimista by the Lanzarote press cartoonist, photographer and photography professor Pepe Vera this Thursday and Friday. The first, on Thursday, at 7:30 p.m., at the Agustín de la Hoz House of Culture; the second, on Friday, at 1 p.m., at the Pancho Lasso Art School.

Both presentations are part of the program of cultural activities for November designed by the Arrecife City Council, chaired by Yonathan de León Machín, through the Department of Culture directed by Abigail González.

In Puto Opitmista, the author compiles more than 100 of his cartoons, signed as El Vera, almost all of them of a social and political nature. With a degree in Applied Arts and Artistic Crafts specializing in Photography and a Higher Technician in Photography and Artistic Design, Pepe Vera is currently a photography professor at the Pancho Lasso Art School in Lanzarote.

His work is in the collections of the International Museum of Contemporary Art (MIAC) of Arrecife, in the Museu de Angra do Heroismo de Azores in Portugal, in the Island of Tenerife Photography Center, El Quijote Museum in the World (Tenerife) and Quevedos virtual Museum of the Quevedo Institute of Humor of Alcalá de Henares.
