About 25,000 people enjoyed the ‘Canarias Manga Festival’ in the Islas Canarias Park in Arrecife, held over the weekend and which “due to its extraordinary public response and spectacular nature” -says Deputy Mayor Echedey Eugenio- “encourages us to continue working from the City Council so that our city has events like this, which boost its economy and consolidate it as the third most important capital in the Canary Islands.”

Because among the institutions that have collaborated to ensure that the capital of Lanzarote has hosted this Festival, organized by Zukoabega Producciones, is the Arrecife City Council through the Departments of Festivities, directed by Echedey Eugenio, and Youth, directed by Rosmen Quevedo, who also expresses his satisfaction “for contributing to the celebration of activities demanded by the young people of Arrecife and that have as much acceptance as those included in this Festival.”

A ‘Canarias Manga Festival’ also designed to be enjoyed as a family and a compendium of the culture that has emerged around the characters of Japanese comics -‘mangas’- and ‘anime’, another artistic expression from the Japanese country related to cartoons and the audiovisual industry, whose first edition was possible thanks to the participation of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Government of the Canary Islands and SPEL-Turismo Lanzarote, among other entities.

During the three days, the different stages and around fifty stands installed throughout the entire surface of the Islas Canarias Park hosted workshops, talks, video game tournaments, karaoke, martial arts, wrestling, exhibitions, role-playing games, pillow fights, board games and music, among many other shows that delighted the thousands of people attending.
