Arrecife City Council hosted a total of 58 civil marriage ceremonies last year, which were held in municipal buildings. The City Council provides both the facilities and the necessary furniture to celebrate the weddings free of charge.

The House of Culture, the Plenary Hall of the City Council or La Recova are some of the spaces that the bride and groom can choose to formalize their union. "These ceremonies can also be held in other locations such as hotels in the municipality," they point out from the City Council in a statement.

In addition, they specify that the City Council "provides the basic elements for the celebration of weddings and gives champagne for the subsequent toast", and that "the bride and groom can provide flowers and other decorative details". In fact, they explain that "many civil marriages have been set with the favorite songs of the bride and groom, background music, readings, poems or original speeches of family members and participants".
