El Almacén surrenders to the debauchery of Cabaret Canalla with Bubblegum Pink

Humor, music, and satire come together in this transgressive stage proposal that, as a prelude to carnival, parodies local and international reality from an irreverent and festive perspective

Show Rosa chicle

The Insular Center for Culture El Almacén hosts a new edition of Cabaret Canalla with Rosa Chicle, a stage production, organized by the Cabildo de Lanzarote, which arrives as a prelude to the carnivals with a transgressive show, full of humor, music, and satire.

The show brings together Momi Chou, Drag Nilo, Mapy Kilate$, Dra. Alexis Gaviota, and Nadia Comăneci in a wild story that, through musical numbers and comedic interludes, parodies aspects of the local and international scene from an irreverent perspective.

The Minister of Culture of the Island Council, Jesús Machín Tavío, has stated that this proposal "connects with the critical and festive spirit of carnival, betting on contemporary scenic languages that combine humor, provocation, and reflection, and that consolidate El Almacén as a space open to freer creation".

Carnival action

The story is set in the Buñuel Hall of El Almacén, where cleaners África and América arrive after the last carnival party and find an audience waiting for a cabaret that, in theory, has already finished. Amidst remnants of streamers, confetti, and abandoned props, they decide to improvise a show with the participation of Arabia, an authoritarian housekeeper who joins the wild celebration until the arrival of Paca, the ambitious owner of the cleaning company, whose aspirations include becoming the new president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote.

The show can be enjoyed on Wednesday, February 11, at 8:00 PM, and on Thursday, February 12, with two performances, at 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Tickets are still available for some of the performances, which can be purchased through the ticket sales website of the Lanzarote Island Council's Culture Department
