The Lanzarote Bar Association rejects the measures of the Judicial Power after the state of alarm

The Lanzarote Bar Association expresses its "total rejection" of the organizational and procedural measures proposed by the General Council of the Judiciary as a shock plan in the Administration of Justice after the State of Alarm.

According to a statement, "these measures have been drafted without taking into account, as would have been desirable, the circumstances of the daily work of the lawyers of this country, as legal operators of maximum importance in the defense of the legitimate interests and fundamental rights of citizens; as several of them violate effective judicial protection and a defense with guarantees."

"We do not consider it appropriate to propose the authorization of the month of August as a mechanism to overcome the judicial stagnation, while expressly reserving respect for the vacations of the members of the Judicial Power, something to which, from these lines, as it cannot be otherwise, we show our respect, yes, demanding that same respect for the rest of the legal operators, among them, us, lawyers, creditors to that same right, in addition to the conciliation of work and family life. In short, for all or none," they add from the Bar Association.

Finally, they express their support for the proposals of "our General Council of Lawyers, as it marks a progressive agenda for the restart of judicial activity that is certainly more in line with the situation we are experiencing." "The success of this company is based on a sacrifice shared by all," they conclude.
